You might not need to watch this video

If you’ve not been to see the doctor in the last 5 years, and your mum, dad, brothers and sisters are all fit and healthy too, you probably don’t need to watch this video.

However, if you don’t have a perfect medical record or family history, you will need some help as there is a huge difference between in the premiums that the different providers will offer you.

£400 or £52?

For example we recently insured a lady who’d previously had a malignant melanoma – skin cancer. Some providers wouldn’t insure her at all, some wanted to charge her over £400 per month. We got her cover for £52 per month.

A lot of sitting down

We insured an HGV driver recently who was very overweight, smoked, and drove 120000 miles a year (a lot of sitting down). Some providers wanted to charge him twice the normal premiums. We found a provider who was happy to cover him without any increase in premiums.

Diabetes

Some providers won’t cover people who suffer from diabetes, because it can be such a harmful condition. We know of one provider who is very favourable to diabetics, and although the cover costs more than if you weren’t diabetic, the premiums are usually realistic and affordable.
