Assisted suicide โ where someone is given the means to end their own life, is now legal in Austria ๐๐
There are very strict criteria:
โข Adults must be terminally ill, or have a permanent debilitating condition.
โข Two doctors must assess the case ๐ฉโโ๏ธ๐ฉโโ๏ธ
โข Minors and people with mental health conditions are excluded
โข Patients must wait 12 weeks to reflect on their decision (or 2 weeks if they are terminally ill)
After this time, they are given a prescription for lethal drugs.
