Prince Philipโ€™s will may never be published. The law to seal Royal wills was devised after the amorous gambler Prince Francis โ€“ brother of Queen Mary โ€“ died in 1910 and left valuable Royal emeralds to a society beauty he had been dating. The Queen applied for his will to be sealed โ€“ and it resides in a safe โ€“ along with 30 other Royal wills (including Prince Philipโ€™s) which may never be opened.

Queen Mary secretly purchased the Royal emeralds back for ยฃ10,000. Thank you to Allan Warren for the picture of Prince P.
