Low Salt

Too little sodium ๐Ÿง‚in the blood can cause all sorts of problems from cramp to death.

We generally associate too much salt with high blood pressure๐Ÿฉบ but too little can be just as dangerousโš ๏ธ It allows water to enter the brain cells๐Ÿ’ฆโžก๏ธ๐Ÿง  which makes them swell. This can cause headaches, confusion and (sometimes) deathโ˜ ๏ธ

Marathon runners๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ enthusiastic beer drinkers๐Ÿบ and people who take ecstasy๐Ÿ’Š are all prone to low sodium in their blood.

Kidney or liver problems can cause fluid to accumulate which dilutes the sodium in the body โ€“ causing the same problems.
